One of the greatest challenges I've noticed with my clients both in photography and now within health & wellness industry is that they fail to see the biggest opportunities right in front of them to lose weight for good!
They're often so overwhelmed trying to find the "right" diet or the "right" workout rather than taking a step back to uncover REAL permanent change, in their weight, relationships, career, home environment, spirituality, and most importantly with themselves.

I too, was one of the ladies described above (you can learn about my story here). Seeking every fad diet under the sun, until I realized that lasting change wouldn't be found after completing 14-days of chicken, broccoli, and rice for three meals a day or doing endless amounts of cardio. I had to do the work; I had to get uncomfortable and tap into what was causing me stumble through life rather than live the life I had been dreaming of.
Thankfully, I DECIDED give up fad diets for good once and for all!
I lost 20 pounds in 12-weeks and created a foundation that allowed me to lose an additional 40 pounds and maintain a 60 pound weight loss for the past 5 years!
My passion for Holistic health coaching and personal training stems from never wanting another women to try endless yo-yo diets, fall off the wagon time and time again, or feel guilt when they FINALLY decide to put themselves back on their to do list. It breaks my heart on a daily basis to hear their struggles first hand!

MEET ERICA -
I had completed the initial questionnaire about myself and it stood out to me that I really needed this and I prayed I would be selected as one of her pilot program members. I wasn’t sure exactly what to say in some of my answers. I had always battled with food. Never a naturally skinny girl if I was “thin” I had to work really hard at it. After having my first son 5 years ago, then another baby 20 mos later I had pushed myself to the bottom of the priority totem poll. Two years ago I had pulled myself back towards the top and had lost nearly 30 lbs…but decided later that year to have a “third baby” and open up my own small business.
MY BALANCE AGAIN WAS LOST. I WAS STRUGGLING WITH THE BALANCE OF KIDS, HOUSEWORK, RUNNING MY OWN BUSINESS, BEING A WIFE, AND BEING ME. I HAD SOMEHOW MANAGED TO GAIN BACK 20 OF THE 30 LBS I HAD LOST. I WAS SO FRUSTRATED WITH MYSELF AND KNEW I NEEDED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I PUT MYSELF OUT THERE AND SENT MY APPLICATION TO AMANDA. I AM EVER GRATEFUL I DID.
In our twelve week program not only did Amanda help me lose almost 20 lbs and 12 inches; she helped coach me through high weeks, low weeks, normal weeks, ho-hum weeks, stressful weeks, and the “jealous that my husband still weighs what he weighed in high school” week. But it wasn’t just about the weight loss... and to be honest only about 10 minutes of our 30 minute phone call was focusing on how and what I ate and what exercise I did in the last week. The rest of the phone call was about helping me find the BALANCE in the other aspects of my life so that I could focus on myself and my health. We worked at pinpointing where the “problem” was that week and brainstormed ways to find solutions.
As an example, week two I set a goal of taking my bedroom back. Sounds simple… and it was… kicked out the kid’s toys, put away some laundry, made our bed daily, a nice clean bedroom… this simple task allowed me to take back some me time and space. Our weekly calls allowed me to find my balance between all of my roles and to prioritize (which not every week was the same priority) so that I could focus on what I wanted to focus on for the week, so that my health and wellness wasn’t what was suffering. Was it easy? No. Was it worth it? Yes. Did it get easier? Absolutely. I’m now six weeks out from our 12 week transformation and am so happy that I’ve continued my own health journey. What was once hard work towards my goal is now habit. I’m proud to say that at least 3 times a week I’m still exercising… that I’m still losing weight at a rate I’m happy with… and I’m still feeling like I can work to achieve this balance where I’m not at the bottom of the totem pole.
